Transformers
July 4th, 2007 by FweebI’m conflicted a bit with this one. It was definitely an exciting movie with very strong acting and great action and very well executed effects that involved giant transforming robots. However… I’m not sure if it’s actually Transformers. And there’s some generally poor writing/storytelling going on (as should probably be expected from something directed by Michael Bay). I won’t get into it heavily lest I spoil it for others, but suffice it to say that while this [very fun and entertaining] movie has the concept of Transformers in mind, I think it lacks the spirit/soul of the original.
Of course, that could just be nostalgia speaking, but I don’t think so.
