December 6th, 2007 by FweebThe objective in the earliest forms of bowling was to actually miss the pins. Rather than have gutters, the lane would be defined by parallel rows of pins. Players would roll a weasel down the lane and see how few pins they would strike. For added interest, they would occasionally use a live weasel.
