Modern Animation & Efficiency
April 10th, 2007 by FweebIf you’re interested in animation and stuff related to it, you really should be reading Keith Lango’s site. I’ve been quietly following it for a while now and he has yet to post something that isn’t interesting or insightful. Okay, enough preface… I recently read two really good blog posts of his comparing the quality and efficiency of 1930’s-era animators to that of modern CG animation. Those guys were monsters. I always tell people interested in getting into 3D animation that learning to draw will improve their work drastically. That’s because drawing, and by extension, animating, really boils down to seeing and studying shape, form and movement. These posts resonated with me and seemed to re-emphasize the point.
